In our pitch I think we presented fairly confidently as a group however I think I personally could have improved confidence wise. We also presented both our ideas clearly by making comparisons between he two so it's easier to see which show would work better. I think that most of the feedback we received was very positive and constructive. Another positive about our presentation was that we had enough information on the slides as well as visuals to keep the listeners interested.
To improve our pitch we could have made it come across more like we have more knowledge on the topics/genres/ideas. We could have achieved this by using more examples of local bands and backing the things we wanted to include in our radio show up with evidence. The feedback we also recieved from the pitch was to brief the band on the questions that we will be asking to make sure we get interesting answers as well as asking questions not everyone asked because then it makes them think outside the blue and gets the listeners interested.
The 'local voice' voice idea would have been more successful if we had given more examples on topics to talk about. After this sort of feedback we realised 'Sheffield Underground Sounds' was the best idea. This is mainly because of the fact that we know a lot about the sheffield music scene as it it something we have been involved in before so have experience in interviewing bands. Where as neither of us have much knowledge on the sorts of issues people come across in areas so we wouldn't be quite sure what to expect to start with as the field could be quite broad which could cause problems. The problems would mainly come from the phone ins we would want as because it is before watershed we could not regulate the calls and make sure that it is suitable for children to hear.
Overall I think our pitch was quite successful, the Sheffield Live presenter didn't really give us as much feedback as some of the other groups which i think is a good sign. I also think he preferred our first idea, 'Sheffield Underground Sounds', which is great for me because I would be far more passionate about that as a product rather than 'Local Voice'.
