The show is specifically aimed at the local audience in Sheffield so the denotations of the dialect connote that they are trying to make the audience feel like they belong and feel a part of the show.

The music denotes older generations of music connote that they are more aimed at the older generation, this is backed up by the facts that RAJAR state their target demographic is people between the ages of 25-45.

| The target audience for the show is 25 - 45 and 37% ABC1's. 54% of the big john audience are female and 46% are male listeners because a higher part of the population listening to the show are women whi are taking part in the school run. |

The radio show uses a cart wall so that the presenters know when the advertisements and jingles are coming up. This is mainly because cart wall is basically where the adverts are played from.
